VeriSat will be exhibiting at CommunicAsia 2016 31 May – 3 June 2016 Singapore in the SatComm section, stand 1W3-05.
VeriSat has recently released a new software defined radio receiver with L-band input, targeting professional satellite applications.
Up to 100 MHz analogue bandwidth within the L-band input range (950-2150 MHz) is digitized with up to 250 Msps at 14 bits resolution with an input dynamic analogue range of 45 dB.
Washington D.C., 10th March 2016 – VeriSat was today named the Technology Company of the Year in the Via Satellite Excellence Awards.
Via Satellite’s Excellence Awards salute the companies, technologies, campaigns and innovative people who’ve helped shape the success of the global satellite industry. The award was presented to VeriSat’s CEO, Petter Amundsen, at an awards breakfast at Satellite 2016 this morning. VeriSat has been named Technology Company of the Year, primarily for its development of the SatGuard solution, aimed at reducing VSAT interference.
“Our 2015 Excellence Award Recipients are the most outstanding people and technologies in satellite and set a benchmark for what can be accomplished in this market,” commented Mark Holmes, Editorial Director, The Aerospace Group. “We are delighted to add VeriSat to our list of winners for Technology Company of the Year. We believe the development of SatGuard is hugely beneficial to the industry given satellite interference has been an ongoing problem. This Award is really well-deserved.”
Since the proof-of-concept was demonstrated to the industry a year ago, VeriSat has been developing SatGuard to become a user-friendly application supporting a number of VSAT technologies. At launch, it was revolutionary and immediately made a big difference in combatting VSAT interference. Cases, which had been unresolved for a long time, could now be solved in a matter of minutes.
VeriSat has also developed a user-friendly solution to determine GSM base station location by decoding the GSM interference and extracting the country ID and unique cell ID. The VeriSat solution can perform this extraction down to an SNR level of 2 dB, which is significantly lower than offered by more traditional solutions.
A spin-off of the SatGuard technology enables geolocation of the VSAT terminals by the terminal IDs. Tests have already been performed that successfully verify the solution.
Petter Amundsen, CEO, VeriSat, expressed his delight at receiving this award: “We are honoured to have won such a prestigious award for the satellite industry. Since first being presented the challenge of VSAT interference, we have put a lot of effort into giving the industry tools to resolve it quickly and efficiently. We are proud of what we have achieved so far and will continue to develop the tool further and support our customers to combat this tricky problem.”
VeriSat is exhibiting on booth #140 at Satellite 2016.

SatGuard identifies the source of ASI and XPOL by the VSAT terminal ID
SatGuard is a unique tool with patent-pending technology for identifying the VSAT terminals causing adjacent satellite interference (ASI) and/or cross-polar interference (XPOL). By determining the ID of the terminals, the VSAT network operator can be informed to shut down the unwanted transmission.
SatGuard represents a paradigm shift in handling TDMA interference.
SatGuard finds the unique identifier (MAC address or system ID) of VSAT terminals causing interference – securely, efficiently, quickly, measuring interference levels down to -10 dB SNR.
