VeriSat has recently released a new software defined radio receiver with L-band input, targeting professional satellite applications.
Up to 100 MHz analogue bandwidth within the L-band input range (950-2150 MHz) is digitized with up to 250 Msps at 14 bits resolution with an input dynamic analogue range of 45 dB.

Via Satellite’s Excellence Awards salute the companies, technologies, campaigns and innovative people who’ve helped shape the success of the global satellite industry. The award was presented to VeriSat’s CEO, Petter Amundsen, at an awards breakfast at Satellite 2016 this morning. VeriSat has been named Technology Company of the Year, primarily for its development of the SatGuard solution, aimed at reducing VSAT interference.

Since the proof-of-concept was demonstrated to the industry a year ago, VeriSat has been developing SatGuard to become a user-friendly application supporting a number of VSAT technologies. At launch, it was revolutionary and immediately made a big difference in combatting VSAT interference. Cases, which had been unresolved for a long time, could now be solved in a matter of minutes.
VeriSat has also developed a user-friendly solution to determine GSM base station location by decoding the GSM interference and extracting the country ID and unique cell ID. The VeriSat solution can perform this extraction down to an SNR level of 2 dB, which is significantly lower than offered by more traditional solutions.
A spin-off of the SatGuard technology enables geolocation of the VSAT terminals by the terminal IDs. Tests have already been performed that successfully verify the solution.

SatGuard identifies the source of ASI and XPOL by the VSAT terminal ID
